FRIDAY NIGHT DINNER

Sponsored by Castle Biosciences

Individualizing the Management of Patients with Melanoma and Squamous Cell Carcinoma using Gene Expression Profiling

Speaker:

Michael Guenther, MD

Surgical Oncologist, St. Elizabeth Physicians

Dr. Guenther is a graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School and was a surgical resident at the University of Cincinnati. He completed a surgical oncology fellowship at the John Wayne Cancer Institute in Santa Monica where he had extensive exposure to the surgical treatment of melanoma and breast cancer.

He is the director of the breast center at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Northern Kentucky and has a busy practice focused on breast cancer and melanoma.

I grew up in Western Michigan and attended the University of Notre Dame, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. After medical school at Michigan, I was a surgical resident at the University of Cincinnati, where, as an intern, I met my future wife.  I completed a surgical oncology fellowship in Santa Monica and joined Kaiser Permanente in 1994. I practiced there for 8 years before returning to my wife's and father's hometown, Cincinnati.

I have four children who have all been accomplished athletes, and I greatly enjoy watching them compete. My wife and I enjoy maintaining our home and hosting fundraisers for various charities. I like to play golf, always trying to get better. We are Alabama and Ohio State sports fans.

We currently have 3 cats and an ark of wild animals eating our plants and flowers.
