Call for Abstracts & Bigger-lehman submissions

The 2025 Annual Meeting will take place May 30-31, 2025 at the beautiful Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront. The VSS Research & Scholarship Committee invites you to submit a abstract to be considered for presentation in the program. The deadline for the 2025 program is Monday, January 6, 2025. Please note that presenting your work at the Annual Meeting does not preclude presentation at other conferences. 

A faculty member co-author of the study accepted for presentation must be a member of the ACS and the VA-ACS.

ABSTRACTS
Submit an abstract to present at the Annual Meeting. Clinical and basic science research, clinical studies, innovative techniques, How I Do It, or case presentations will be considered for the program.

POSTER PRESENTATIONS
There will be a poster session at the Annual Meeting.

PRIZES
A first and second place award will be given to the top two oral presentations ($250 and $150 respectively) as well as to the top two poster presentations ($100 and $50 respectively).

Note: COC and COT paper winners do not need to submit their abstracts again.

The VSS Research & Scholarship Committee invites you to submit a manuscript to be considered for presentation in the program. The deadline for the 2025 program is Monday, January 6, 2025.

BIGGER-LEHMAN SUBMISSIONS
This award is given to two surgical Residents and/or Fellows in an approved surgical program in the Commonwealth. A complete manuscript that is either unpublished or published within the last calendar year of the VA-ACS meeting must be submitted by the January 6 deadline. A faculty member co-author of the study accepted for presentation must be a member of the ACS and the VA-ACS.

There will be a first place ($500) and a second place ($250) winner. The winners are expected to present their papers at the 2025 annual meeting. The VSS Research & Scholarship Committee will cover reasonable travel expenses to attend the conference.
