The Virginia Chapter of the American College of Surgeons is deeply saddened by and mourns the untimely loss of Dr. Robyn Macsata, Chief of Vascular Surgery at the George Washington University, and a past President of the Metropolitan DC Chapter of the ACS. During her tenure at both GW and previously as the Chief of Vascular Surgery at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Washington, she mentored, taught, and inspired numerous trainees and colleagues. The entire surgical community has lost a great surgeon, educator, role model, leader, and friend. We are all deeply appreciative of her tireless service and leadership on behalf of her patients, mentees, and all the lives she touched, and we send our deepest condolences to her family, colleagues, and friends. Please see the attached announcement from the George Washington University Department of Surgery.
On behalf of all the members of the Virginia ACS Chapter,
Jonathan Dort, MD, FACS
Margaret Tracci, MD, JD, FACS
